The French shoe designer – grasp of the red-lacquered sole – opened his first hospitality mission within the native coastal city of Melides in 2023. The backstory reads virtually like a fable: whereas sketching at his residence in Comporta, 30km away, he injured himself, and on the journey again from the hospital, he occurred upon the softly hued city. With its sweep of dunes, stone pines and ink-blue lagoon, Melides solid its spell, and earlier than lengthy, Louboutin had acquired a standard fisherman’s shack and reimagined it as a maison de famille-style retreat.
