Works right here embody the ‘manufacturing facility’ sequence of images that Lynch took at abandoned industrial websites in Berlin in 1999, which captured an evocative and empty world of damaged home windows, chimneys and equipment. Their magnificence sits alongside his unsettling work, which intertwine surrealist themes with textual content and open-ended photographs. His watercolours, in his distinctive muted palette splashed with reds and yellows, are introduced within the frames Lynch designed himself.
