The pop-up library centered on housing African literature holds a group of over 3,000 books all sourced from the UAE. ‘West African tradition’s idea of the griot was primarily a human library,’ explains Fawaz Abdulazeez, co-founder of Bootleg Griot. ‘They are saying when a griot dies a library burns down.’
