Yesterday, Georgian designer Demna (beforehand of Balenciaga) revealed a gap glimpse of his tenure as inventive director of Gucci with a group titled ‘La Famiglia’ introduced through a Catherine Opie-shot lookbook. Conjuring a sequence of Gucci archetypes, from the bombshell ‘La Bomba’ to ‘La Principessa’, he promised a imaginative and prescient that’s ‘unapologetically horny, extravagant, and daring’. This night in Milan on the Palazzo Mezzanotte, visitors gathered for half two of the reveal: an intimate screening of ‘The Tiger’, a brief movie by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn which celebrates the gathering in lieu of a runway present (his first present will happen subsequent February). Starring Demi Moore, Edward Norton, Keke Palmer, Alia Shawkat and Kendall Jenner, amongst others, the shiny melodrama options the fictional Barbara Gucci (Moore) ‘head of Gucci worldwide and chairman of California’ coming unspun after an ‘sudden flip’ at a household gathering for her birthday.
