Nifemi Marcus-Bello wins Hublot Design Prize 2022

Nifemi Marcus-Bello’s work in neighborhood initiatives with an ethnographic bent have seen him scoop the Hublot Design Prize 2022, introduced by jury members Hans Ulrich Obrist, inventive director of the Serpentine Galleries; Marva Griffin, the founding father of the design truthful SaloneSatellite; the design critic and creator Alice Rawsthorn; and Samuel Ross, who gained the award in 2019.

Nigerian-born designer Marcus-Bello gained for his work that leads to new kinds and typologies centring across the wants of the neighborhood. In 2021, he gained the Life-Enhancer of the Yr within the Wallpaper* Design Awards, for ‘For the neighborhood by the neighborhood’ transportable handwashing station.
