Ruinart gives meals for thought at Frieze London

There’s nothing fairly like the wedding of artwork and gastronomy. On 12 October 2022 at Frieze London, Ruinart united chef Adam Byatt and Ruinart Carte Blanche artist Jeppe Hein to have fun the magnificent intersection of those worlds. Meals for Artwork – right here taking the type of a lunch and a dinner sitting at Trinity Restaurant – is a eating expertise that attracts on Hein’s Proper Right here, Proper Now set up, which is being staged on the Ruinart Artwork Bar at Frieze London from 12-16 October.

The five-course multisensory culinary expertise is the results of a gastronomic interchange between Byatt and Hein’s Carte Blanche fee, which drew inspiration from Maison Ruinart’s heritage, savoir-faire and champagne creation course of – a celebration of magnificence, style and the pure components. Meals for Artwork is a mirrored image of Hein’s participatory strategy to the fee and consists of an interactive course that displays the 4 components and the 4 seasons.

Among the many creative choices are edible autumnal leaves, a seaweed-based tea, and vegan caviar, which seeks to reimagine how conventional caviar is sourced and served. Naturally, Maison Ruinart in Champagne is on the coronary heart of the presentation, epitomised in Blanc de Blancs, a course of crisp Chardonnay grapevine leaves. This pure-white dish, evoking the chalk terroirs on which the grapes for Ruinart are grown, is minimal in color palette but wealthy in flavour.
