The Amalfi Coast has welcomed a sublime new addition with the opening of the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Lodge.
In depth renovations have reworked the Thirteenth-century cliffside Capuchin convent into an elegant haven, situated a 15-minute stroll away from Amalfi’s centre. Unique options respect the early goal of the constructing, with particulars from the monastic retreat faithfully preserved. Cloisters and an on-site Baroque church, with a majolica ground and marble altar, are a historial foil for the façade of the constructing itself, forged within the authentic colors and supplies.
A brand new Amalfi Coast resort
Inside, the historic preservation continues, with the 52 rooms and suites celebrating the wealth of pure supplies that outlined the convent. Valuable steel, wooden, leather-based and pure fibres are juxtaposed in opposition to lime-washed partitions, authentic tiles and curved, vaulted ceilings, whereas furnishings takes its cue from easy design codes.
Delicacies attracts from Italian traditions, with govt chef Claudio Lanuto championing seasonal produce at Dei Cappucinni. At La Locanda della Canonica Pizzeria, Gino Sorbillo’s eight signature pizzas invite guests to find the tastes of Campania.
Elsewhere, visitors can discover the area with thoughtfully curated experiences, from discovering the Path of the Gods – or the Sentiero Degli Dei – to trekking alongside the Lattari Mountains and discovering Pompei and Herculaneum.
