Gallery Fumi makes LA debut with works from Max Lamb, Jeremy Anderson and extra

Gallery Fumi has crossed the pond to current a six-week exhibition in Los Angeles, California, coinciding with Frieze LA. Dubbed Fumi LA and on view till 9 March 2024, the exhibition is a takeover of Sized Studio in Melrose Hill. Established in 2008 by Sam Pratt and Valerio Capo, Gallery Fumi’s debut showcase in Los Angeles may also embrace ‘BOX 2’, a wholly sustainable assortment by Max Lamb. That is the acclaimed artist and designer’s West Coast debut, and can reveal a design sequence together with 12 chairs and one espresso desk constructed from sustainable cardboard – an extension to his latest presentation ‘BOX’, proven at Fumi in London in 2023. Exploring the world of craft, Lamb provides worth to cardboard: utilising screws, bolts, paper gum and tape to resemble his creations, he elevates what’s seen as a secondary materials and transforms it into lovely design and sculptural items.
